Review of Baby Feeding Service - CHS

Martina Cosgrave and Rima Begum were brilliant. They supported me really well. Because of them I have become more confident in breastfeeding and am continuing by exclusively breastfeeding my child. Martina visited me at my home multiple times and showed me many techniques and ways of breastfeeding and many other extra skills like winding and how to settle my baby. Rima also visited me while I was at the hospital and had just given birth to my baby and helped with positioning and other skills. Both were also available via phone whenever I was feeling unsure about something or needed questions answered. They helped me from atenatal classes all the way through getting discharged and even after being discharged from the hospital. They have both been amazing and I would 100% recommend breastfeeding and both baby feeding specialists to my friends and family. I hope they carry on supporting mums like myself. I’m so happy with the help I have received from them.

I attended my appointment for the fitting of hearing aids with moulds - required in replacement of domes because of the nature of my hearing loss. I was very impressed with the expertise of the audiologist, who noticed that one of the moulds became unseated each time I moved my jaw (to replicate eating) - probably because I have an unusually narrow ear canal. So he took deeper impressions of both canals in order that new moulds could be made.
As with all other Newham audiologists I’ve seen, the audiologist was courteous and very professional.
I was seen on time, and the whole process took no longer than 30 minutes.
I consider that Newham Adult Audiology is an excellent department, and is to be highly commended!

Abigail, our supporter, was just fantastic. She called and showed up to offer support just a couple of hours later. She was warm, insightful, real and informative. I can honestly say she made a world of difference to my mindset and how We care for our baby. Every borough should have this service and someone like Abigail. It is an outstanding support for new mums and to me it’s very essential
